Cameron Shivers, Intern Counselor

I have always had a deep love for wanting to help those in need and specifically helping those find who they are and who they want to be. We live in a world where life can sometimes push us past our breaking point, and in those moments we sometimes need someone to help us find the light at the end of the tunnel. When working with clients, I find the best way to connect and find a path towards change and growth is through the eyes of the beholder. You are capable of more than you know, and your story tells us who you are but also who you can become.

Through your experiences, we will look for ways to bring about your most authentic self in a world where authenticity is not highly sought after. Your story can not only be changed but it can give you the next steps in choosing the path you want to take in life. Through my Christian beliefs, I have found that we all seek the same wants in our lives. We all wish to be loved, cared for, understood, impactful, special, and genuinely loved for our most authentic selves. In our sessions, we will focus on who you are so that we can create experiences that reflect who you want to become. Change is possible, and you have all the power you need inside you to be the change you want to see.

I am currently a Master’s Student at Liberty University, studying to complete my Masters’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling. I then plan to pursue a Doctorate in Developmental Psychology to become a Child Psychologist. My undergrad degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing and Management and I have worked alongside organizations in helping those in need. I have provided encouragement and mentorship to troubled adolescents in a church setting as well as worked with children who have learning and behavioral disabilities. I also have a background in working with many different family dynamics, as I was a wedding photographer for over seven years. This experience has allowed me the opportunity to understand different cultures, belief systems, and backgrounds, as well as work efficiently in stressful and unstable environments.

My husband and I relocated to Washington State from Texas, and have two pups named Blakely and Rose. We enjoy taking our dogs on hikes and exploring the beautiful world that God has created for us. I hope in my practice to show my clients the love and acceptance that God has given to all mankind. We all have a purpose on this earth, and finding it is the best adventure.
