Natalie TenKley, Counseling Intern

Natalie TenKley, Counseling Intern

Since I was young, I have been passionate about helping others. Something that has always moved me deeply is hearing stories of healing and redemption. God’s continued redemptive work in my own life and my fascination with the complexities of the human mind inspired my desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree psychology from Northwest Nazarene University. Knowing I wanted to continue my education within the helping professions but being unsure which path to take, I spent a couple of years in the work force trying to find my place after graduation from NNU. I hopped from case management to administrative work to the food service industry. Eventually, I made the decision to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a program that strives to integrate faith into learning and practice.

As graduate student at Liberty University, I believe in the transformative healing that comes from the integration of evidence-based therapeutic practice with the wisdom and compassion rooted in Bible. I am committed to fostering a safe space where individuals can explore their experiences, deepest emotions, and spiritual beliefs without fear of judgment. My ultimate aspiration is to walk alongside individuals on their journeys toward healing, drawing strength from my faith and an ever-growing respect for the resilience of the human spirit.

Although much of my time is consumed by coursework, I do my best to make time for fun. Some of the activities that I enjoy the most are being outside (especially in the sunshine), spending time with my husband and family, engaging in artistic projects (painting is my favorite), and taking care of my numerous house plants.
