About Me

Hi, I’m Natalie

I’ve always had a heart for helping others, which led me to begin my academic journey at Northwest Nazarene University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During that time, I discovered my passion for understanding human behavior and mental health. Studying psychology not only opened my eyes to the needs of others, but also gave me a deeper understanding of myself. I believe everyone deserves that same opportunity for self-discovery and growth.

Shortly after completing my undergraduate degree, I pursued a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. My approach in working with adults is rooted in a person-centered philosophy. I’m passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges—such as anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and spiritual struggles.

During my clinical internship, I discovered the true magic of counseling through the joy, honesty, and resilience of children who find transformation in the therapeutic process. In my work with young people, I utilize child-centered play therapy—a developmentally appropriate and evidence-based approach that allows children to express themselves in the way they know best: through play. As renowned play therapist Garry Landreth said, “Toys are children’s words, and play is their language.”

Play therapy offers a safe, supportive space where children can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. Rather than focusing on correcting behavior, it emphasizes building a trusting relationship and supporting emotional growth from the inside out. Through play, children can develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, and resilience—all within a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and unconditional positive regard. I’m committed to meeting each child where they are developmentally and emotionally, honoring their unique way of engaging with the world while supporting their healing and growth.

Outside the therapy room, you can usually find me tending to my plants, enjoying the outdoors, watching a good movie, spending time with family, or cooking or baking something new. My Christian faith is the foundation of who I am, and I strive to bring compassion, empathy, and hope into every session—honoring each person’s unique journey and values.
